BACKGROUND: On January, 24, the Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority (MSEA) approved a Resolution and Memorandum of Understanding between Friends of Miami Marine Stadium, the Miami City Commission and MSEA. This legislation now represents a first step to the creation of a partnership which will lead to the restoration and operation the Marine Stadium. The matter is now before the Miami City Commission and approval is expected shortly.

The Marine Stadium initiative, which started in 2008, has now attracted national and international support. The leaders above will discuss the importance of the Marine Stadium and next steps in the plans for restoration.
